Meet Patrick Burns, Construction Manager

Pat founded CMC Northwest following a successful and highly accomplished career as a construction director with extensive experience in project management, operations management, construction field operations, construction estimating, scheduling, means and methods, budget management, maintenance, and safety operations for large and small-scale building projects.

Through his extensive experience, Pat saw an opportunity where he could offer the experience and expertise of a large firm, with all the benefits of a small firm; personal attention, flexibility, lower overhead, and focus. He enjoys the challenge of translating an inspirational set of plans to bring a vision to life with patience, diligence, and expertise.

Pat previously rowed crew and to this day enjoys his rower, a glass of red wine, and his annual fishing trip to Alaska with some of his closest friends.

The projects included the renovation of Cerritos, an outlet Village at CA (2015 – 2016), The Village at Totem Lake in Kirkland, WA (2015 – 2018), and The Terminal at Ballard (2015 – 2018).

Construction Director, 2012 – 2015

I have managed multiple projects, specifically with Glimcher Realty Trust of Columbus, OH. The projects included a regional mall renovation and a mall addition (Outlet Collection Auburn, WA 2012-2014; Block M Mall Addition Scottsdale, AZ 2014-Present)

WESTFIELD AMERICA G.P., INC., Los Angeles, CA

Construction Director, 2006-2012

I have held multiple responsibilities, including managing construction under Westfield’s direct responsibility. Projects include Vancouver Mall Westfield (2010 – 2012) and Southcenter Westfield, Tukwila, WA (2006 – 2010).

Mall Operations Manager, 2009 – 2010

I have held responsibilities, including managing onsite engineering staff, responsible for daily operations and functions of the facility. I have also managed site security staff, energy management systems, and daily operations.

SD DEACON CONSTRUCTION, Bellevue, WA

Operations Manager, 2002 – 2006

I have directed all field operations, including the hiring of all new employees, from the administration, site project engineers, carpenters/laborers, assistant project superintendents, to superintendents and project managers. Projects include Seattle Premium Outlets, Tulalip, WA, Starfire Sports, Tukwila, WA, commercial construction projects like several Walmarts, Safeway grocery stores, and specialty retail facilities, and re-development of Sea-Tac Mall, Federal Way, WA.
